Desde muy temprano me intereso por la pintura y el dibujo pero no es hasta el año 2001 cuando decido ingresar en la facultad de Bellas Artes de la universidad del Pais Vasco, España, buscando una dedicación a tiempo completo.
Since childhood I discovered my interest in drawing and painting, but it is in 2001 when I decided to apply to the school of Beaux Arts in the Basque Country University, looking for a full time dedication to my dream.
En el año 2004 me conceden la beca Seneca para la universidad de Barcelona, ciudad a la que me traslado esperando dar un empuje definitivo a mi carrera.
In 2004 I received the Seneca scholarship to go to the Faculty of Art in Barcelona University, where I move searching for the soul of my concept.
En Diciembre del mismo año, y con una orientación artística bien definida decido que el academicismo de algunas asignaturas me aleja de la producción y de mi propio camino mas de lo que aporta, así que renuncio a la beca económica.
In December same year, with a clearly defined artistic orientation, decided that the academicism of the school is keeping me away from production and my own way, so I give up the economic scholarship.
Siguiendo un interés por el ser humano y el lugar que lo define, por lo que nos une y lo que nos diferencia, me aventuro en una rutina que no dura mas de 10 días en cada lugar y que pasa por distintos países de cuatro continentes, exceptuando Africa. Durante casi tres años dedico casi todo mi tiempo a recoger mis impresiones de las particularidades de los seres humanos definidas por el lugar de nacimiento, a veces a través de la fotografía, a veces a través de bocetos rápidos.
Following an interest for the human being, for almost three years I venture to travel around four continents, except Africa. I dedicated my time to collect my impressions of the particularities of the human beings defined by the place of birth, sometimes through photography, often through quick sketches.
Con una firme creencia en la infancia, y en su derecho a que los adultos hagamos las cosas mejor para ofrecerles un mundo menos tenso, me involucro en un proyecto de colaboración con una organización que ayuda a niños maltratados en Costa Rica, donde doy clases de arte.
With a firm belief in childhood, and their right to be happy, and consequently the responsibility of adults to offer them a better world, I get involve in a collaborative project with an organization that helps abused children in Costa Rica, where I teach art.
En Julio del año 2007 la apertura de una galería de arte me trae a Cabo San Lucas, donde intento aplicar mis conocimientos a la venta. La incompatibilidad con la creación artística y la crisis económica hacen que traspase mi negocio y me dedique exclusivamente a la producción artística.
In July of 2007, the opening of an art gallery brings me to Cabo San Lucas, where I try to apply my knowledge to the sale. Incompatible with artistic creation I decide to transfer my business. Since that moment I devoted exclusively to art production.
Con un concepto que se centra en la figura humana y la expresión, como vinculo absoluto en todos los seres humanos, mi producción recoge tanto pintura como escultura.
With a concept that focuses on the human figure through expression, and the belief that all the human beings are closely bound together, my work reflects both painting and sculpture.
Aquí tienen una pequeña muestra de lo que hago.
